Chief Justice gets full court reference on his farewell from JK High Court | KNO

JAMMU, MARCH 15 (KNO) : To bid adieu to the Chief Justice, Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed, a Full Court farewell reference was held in the Chief Justice’s Court at High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu here today.

The reference was attended by all the Judges of the High Court, Chief Secretary, Advocate General, DG Police, Secretary Home Department, Pr. Secy to Chief Minister, Law Secretary, President Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu, other members of the Bar, Judicial Officers of Jammu District, Registry Officers and other Staff of the High Court.

Proceedings were conducted by Registrar General, Sanjay Dhar while the Advocate General Jehangir Iqbal Ganai highlighted the multifaceted personality of the Chief Justice. The Advocate General in particular appreciated the role of the Chief Justice in introduction of Information Technology in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and making this Court as front runner in using the technology in judicial processes.

During his farewell speech, the Chief Justice expressed his gratitude and affection for the entire judicial system of the magnificently diverse state of J&K. In his response to the reference stated in his address, the Chief Justice said that he is very proud of the fact that the introduction of paperless e-Courts in the High Court was facilitated in large measure by his colleagues on the Bench and welcomed by members of the bar. The fact that this Court is now a front-runner in the adoption and use of technology in the court rooms is the result of a huge collaborative effort. The Chief Justice also praised the Judges of the High Court, Judicial Officers of the State and personal staff of High Court for their dedication and commitment.

“In my experience here, I have found that the members of the bar at both places, Srinagar and Jammu, are extremely competent and vibrant that is an indicia of a successful judicial system and if the quality of the bar is good, it will undoubtedly be manifested in the quality of the bench, the Chief Justice said this while thanking everyone present in the Full Court Reference.(KNO)
